Norwegian Aqua (Norwegian Cruise Line), April 2025

Norwegian Aqua, the first ship in Norwegian Cruise Line’s Prima Plus Class, is slightly larger than its Prima Class predecessors (156,300 gross tons compared to 142,500). Standout features include the innovative Aqua Slidecoaster—a unique hybrid rollercoaster and waterslide—and the debut of Game Zone, an enhanced version of the Galaxy Pavilion featuring interactive darts, VR gaming, and a for-fee mini-golf course. The ship will also introduce NCL’s first Thai specialty restaurant and an upgraded Haven area, showcasing a stunning 979-square-foot, three-bedroom duplex suite with a spacious balcony.

The highly anticipated second ship in Royal Caribbean's Icon Class, Star of the Seas, will showcase eight neighborhoods and a blend of signature restaurants and attractions that fans of the line know and love. Unique to Star of the Seas is its mainstage production, the musical Back to the Future. Additional new dining options and attractions exclusive to the ship are expected but have yet to be announced.

Star Princess (Princess Cruises), September 2025

Also debuting in 2025 is Star Princess, the second Sphere Class ship from Princess Cruises. While largely mirroring the design of Sun Princess, Star Princess will feature a few notable updates, including an expanded O’Malley’s Irish Pub, the Love by Britto gallery, and a brand-new SkyDeck Sports Court & Track. This upgraded sports area will offer facilities for pickleball and basketball, along with a splash zone designed for young children.

The highly anticipated and long-delayed fourth ship in the Virgin Voyages fleet, Brilliant Lady, is set to debut in 2025. While it will closely resemble its three sister ships, Brilliant Lady will feature a modified design to navigate the Panama Canal. This ship will also mark several firsts for Virgin Voyages, including sailings from New York City and Los Angeles, as well as a dedicated season of Alaska cruises departing from Seattle in 2026.

American Patriot/American Pioneer (American Cruise Lines), June 2025/November 2025

American Patriot and American Pioneer are the inaugural ships in American Cruise Line’s new Patriot Class. Continuing ACL’s tradition of coastal cruising, these vessels combine modern amenities with 100% private balcony accommodations, including spacious suites ranging from 420 to 620 square feet.

Celebrity Xcel, the fifth (and potentially final) ship in the Edge Class, will introduce enhanced features, including an expanded Rooftop Garden that extends over the ship's side and an upgraded version of Daniel Boulud’s specialty restaurant. The ship will also debut seven new experiences unique to the Celebrity fleet, though details remain under wraps. Notably, Xcel will be the first Celebrity ship designed to use methanol as fuel.

Disney Destiny (Disney Cruise Line), November 2025

No two Disney ships are ever alike, and Disney Destiny is shaping up to be a truly unique addition to the fleet! While many details are still under wraps, we know it will feature a spectacular “Lion King”-inspired dining experience called “Pride Lands: Feast of the Lion King.” What’s even more exciting is that Destiny will be the most superhero-focused ship to date, offering immersive experiences like the World of Marvel dining venue, Marvel Superhero Academy (also found on Disney Wish and Disney Treasure), a “Doctor Strange”-themed lounge, Spider-Man-inspired hull art, and a stunning 2,000-square-foot Tower Suite modeled after Iron Man’s penthouse. It’s a dream come true for Disney fans and Marvel enthusiasts alike!
