I just got off the brand-new Disney Destiny, and this ship feels like Disney Cruise Line with a fresh, bold personality, more cinematic, more immersive, and packed with “wow” moments from morning to night. While the layout will feel familiar if you’ve sailed the Wish-class before, Destiny’s Heroes & Villains theme is what makes it stand out, it’s woven into the design, the storytelling, and the energy onboard in a way that feels uniquely Destiny.

What makes Disney Destiny different from other Disney ships

If you’ve sailed Disney Wish or Disney Treasure, Destiny is the ship that leans hardest into its theme. The Grand Hall is inspired by Black Panther/Wakanda, setting the tone the moment you step onboard (it’s a must-see, and a must-photo). And when it comes to dinner, Destiny’s biggest “only here” change is its signature rotational restaurant: Pride Lands: Feast of the Lion King (Wish has Arendelle, Treasure has Plaza de Coco, Destiny is the Lion King ship!).

My favorite part about this restaurant is that it is a mini museum of Walt Disney history.

Pride Lands: Feast of the Lion King: the show-stopping new dining experience

This is the headliner, and it’s exclusive to the Destiny. Pride Lands: Feast of the Lion King is a first-of-its-kind musical dining experience that pairs live performers and musicians with a menu inspired by the flavors of Africa. Expect a storytelling journey through Simba’s story with beloved songs and theatrical moments happening throughout the meal.

Adults will love the lounges just as much as the dining

One of Destiny’s biggest surprises is how strong the adult vibe can be when you want it. The ship introduces new themed lounges like The Sanctum (Doctor Strange), De Vil’s piano lounge, themed after the one and only, Cruella and Cask & Cannon, a pirates-inspired pub, plus the fan-favorite (and mine) Haunted Mansion Parlor returns. These spaces make it easy for adults to carve out their own “grown-up cruise” moments even on a family ship.
