It does not quite fall yet. But Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is in full swing with pumpkins, wreaths, fall colors, and more. The amount of detail that goes into the decor is amazing and no area goes untouched. But the decor is not all the party has to offer. With all the entertainment, costumes, characters, and candy the party offers, it makes it an event not to be missed! Here are some tips to make sure you get the most out of the party:
ARRIVE EARLY
The party begins at 7 pm, but you can enter the parks as early as 4 pm. This will give you time to experience a bit of Magic Kingdom without buying a ticket for the day. If you’re already in the park, you’ll need to go get your party wristband at a special station inside the park. The wristbands are how Cast Members know who gets to stay in the parks after the 7 pm party start time.
DRESS FOR THE OCCASION
Children and adults are welcome to dress in costume for the event (no masks or weapons allowed). So, get creative! But, remember to dress for the weather. Lighter clothes or layers are best as it can be quite warm. There are some great people watching during the Halloween party.
GET A PARTY MAP & SCHEDULE
When you arrive in the parks, there are special maps at the entrance just for the party. Be sure to grab one of these. They will show you all the special character meeting spots, the trick-or-treat locations, and the special entertainment schedule. This will help you get a plan together, so you aren’t wasting time running back and forth around the park.
GRAB SOME SPOOKY TREATS
There are trick-or-treat locations throughout the park. No need to bring a treat bag. You’ll receive one as you enter the party. Does someone in your family have a food allergy? just let a Cast Member know and they will give you a special treat bag for allergy-friendly options. The Halloween Party also offers some special treats for purchase that you can’t get any other night. Check your guide map for special locations for pumpkin cupcakes, Monster Cookie Ice Cream Sandwiches, Grave Digger Milk Shakes, Glow Mickey Mummy Premium Popcorn Buckets, and more.
DON’T MISS THE SPECIAL ENTERTAINMENT
The Halloween party offers the Boo to You Parade and Disney’s Not-So-Spook Spectacular Fireworks that can only be seen on MNSSHP nights. These should not be missed! It’s also your only chance to see The Cadaver Dans Barbershop Quartet and the Sanderson Sisters in the Hocus Pocus Villain Spectacular.
Parade tips: The parade starts in Frontierland and takes approximately 20 minutes to get to Main Street. To see the parade right at its start time, try and find a place near Peco’s Bills. You’ll have a better chance of getting a good spot for the second parade since people start lining up for the first parade right when the party starts. Also, make sure to have your camera ready for a rare appearance from the Headless Horseman right before the start of the parade.
MEET SOME CHARACTERS
Visit some of your favorite characters all decked out in the Halloween attire. Party nights are also the time to visit rarely-seen characters such as Sally &Jack Skellington and the Seven Dwarfs. Check your guide map or the Disney app to find locations and make sure to line up early if there is a rare character you want to meet as lines for these tend to get long quickly.
NEW ADDITIONS FOR THE 50th ANNIVERSARY
This year there will be new interactive photo locations. these interactive photo locations pay tribute to favorite Disney stories and characters, from friendly Monsters to Grim Grinning Ghosts. You’ll also receive a reusable treat bag that you can fill with candy and take home and a commemorative print, inspired by Halloween at Magic Kingdom park and the 50th Anniversary celebration
STAY LATE
After the first parade and fireworks, a lot of families start heading out of the park. This is when you can make the most of the party. Wait times for attractions get lighter and Cast Members get more generous handy-out candy. The party lasts until midnight, so I highly recommend you stay until the end to maximize your party time.
There’s so much to see and do at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party and the time always goes by so quickly. So, make sure to plan ahead so you can make the most of it.
